Palin above our law, but well below God's law

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) -- Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin abused her power as Alaska's governor and violated state ethics law by trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the state police, a state investigator's report concluded Friday.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is under investigation for the firing of her public safety commissioner.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is under investigation for the firing of her public safety commissioner.

"Gov. Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda," the report states.

Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan's refusal to fire State Trooper Mike Wooten from the state police force was "likely a contributing factor" to Monegan's July dismissal, but Palin had the authority as governor to fire him, the report by former Anchorage prosecutor Stephen Branchflower states.

The investigator's report states Palin's efforts to get Wooten fired broke a state ethics law that bars public officials from pursuing personal interest through official action.

The lawyers representing both Sarah and Todd Palin issued a three-page attack on the investigative report, including the contention that Ethics Act violations can only involve financial motives and financial "potential gain, or the avoidance of a potential loss."

"Here, there is no accusation, no finding and no facts that money or financial gain to the Governor was involved in the decision to replace Monegan," the lawyers said.

Ok, here's the thing. The Troopergate report says Palin BROKE (Palin needs to learn that broke = violated) a state of Alaska ethics law. Now her attorney is trying to say that law does not apply to her because no financial gain was receieved. The law says 'bars public officials from pursuing personal interest through official action'. Notice the word PERSONAL, which does NOT mean financial. The report goes on to state that part of the violation was that she had a personal agenda.

Then she is saying, "Well, I’m very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing … any hint of any kind of unethical activity there. Very pleased to be cleared of any of that." http://community.adn.com/adn/node/132625

What part of "violated ethics laws" does she not understand? She says she was cleared of any legal wrongdoing or any hint of unethical activity? Is she STUPID? Does she know how to read? Does she comprehend anything she DOES read? Does she know what The Constitution is? Perhaps her big downfall is that she's not a lawyer like most politicians.

But seriously kiddies, is this what we need in the white house?? Someone who is so completely in denial that she may as well be named Cleopatra, queen of da nile.

We've had had 8 years of someone shredding the constitution and calling it a G*****N piece of paper. We've had 8 years of denial that we have a bad situation on our hands. We've had 8 years of lies, spins on the truth and a president who thinks he's above the law.

Obviously Palin thinks she's above the law if she can, for one second, believe that the wording of the Troopergate report absolves her of all wrong doing.

With the last 8 years of dangerous people in charge of our government, we certainly don't want another criminal in charge of things, and lets face it, McCain wouldn't survive a full term, which would put a criminal in charge of the largest nuclear arsonal in the world and put someone in office who can't hold her tongue.

Now, while I like, and have always advocated, a politician speaking in the "plain, down home 'tell it like it is' style; which Palin does quite well, I've always been one to believe that if you're going to speak like that, at least speak the truth too. Talking to me like a normal human talks to another normal average person does no good if every other word out of your mouth is a bold face lie or if you're so shallow you can't face the truth about yourself.

Sarah Palin feels the "Troopergate" investigation was tainted, yet the majority of the people who started the probe were/are Republicans.

I have taken enough classes in the last 10 years to know that the history books are not going to be kind to Bush, Cheney, McCain or Palin. They will remember, and they all will be mentioned, but it will be a deplorable writeup. Bush and Cheney didn't even get all that much praise in history textbooks in 2005.

The Republican party has roasted it's last elephant. Stick a fork in it, it's done. I honestly feel we'll have a bloody civil war before we let someone continue us down the Bushy and thorny path we've been on. America is at a crossroads. God will be watching which path we take. We'd better take the Obama path or, can we all say on the count of three, one, two, three, ARMAGEDDON.
