How to slim down

Ok, I know the sign is supposed to be comical, but lets get real folks, what's up with the gas prices and what can we do about it?

Personally, I am all in favor of rather than losing one more American Soldier in Iraq, lets pull everyone out NOW, all at once, and let the sunnis and shiites and Kurds kill each other off. We go back in, not with military but with oil workers and take the oil Bush has had us fighting and dying for.

Lest we not forget, or be ingorant of facts and the lies fed to us, this war was not about a regime change, it was about oil, and establishing bases in Iraq. We knew long before we went to Iraq that Iran would be a threat and that we needed a "legitimate" reason to base ourselves next door, as a staging ground for defense against Iran's nuclear threat.

Now we've got our nosey tits in another wringer, but where are we going to stage against North Korea?

For all our blustery talk and by that I mean Bushwhacker's posturing, you notice now, we're taking "diplomatic" approaches to dealing with N. Korea's missle launches, rather than military action? First off, even if we WEREN'T in Iraq and Afghanistan, we wouldn't have ENOUGH military to fight N. Korea. Nor do I believe we could even generate enough "patriotism" to get 2 million plus civilians to join the armed forces to go fight N. Korea. It is estimated we'd need at least a 2/1 margin of soldiers to combat N. Korea's million man army.

Now I know what you may say, that I underestimate how patriotic we can be, but I know that if we were invaded, we wouldn't even need an army of uniformed soldiers, EVERYONE would take up arms locally if nothing else, and defend ourselves, but with the lies we've been told by Bushwhacker, and thousands of us dying for nothing over in two middle eastern countries, Bush would be hard pressed to lie his way into convincing that many eligible Americans that they should put on a uniform and go to N. Korea. And it looks like Russia isn't going to be much help now either, since Cheney pissed off Vladimir Putin with some comments he made.

So, what do we do? WE VOTE!

That is the only option we currently have available. But who do we vote for? The republican party has been hijacked by religious fanatics, and the Democrats aren't worth a shit either. If Hillary is the best we can put up as a candidate in 2008, heaven (if there is such a place) help us.

Here's MY idea. If you HAVE to vote democratic or republican, vote democrat. Make Bush a lame duck prez by taking over the house and senate in the mid term elections. If any other candidates are available other than Dems or Repubs, vote for them. The only drawback to this plan is that the "other" candidates would have to win by a wide margin to keep the votes from going to either the Democrats or republicans.

Bottom line though is that we have to vote out the corrupt and career politicians. That's what is holding us back from being the great nation we can be.

If any of you have seen the movie, "The Stand", we need to take THEIR approach to WHO we elect in the future.

In the meantime though, supposedly gas prices are so high due to high demand. Well if you can stop the demand by taking mass transit or car pools even a couple times a week at least, DO IT. Only fill up once a week instead of 3. Walk, bike, rollerskate if you have to, but cut down your dependancy on your car.

**Warning, long term side effects of this will be a healthier and lighter body. Your pocketbook will be a bit heavier, but who the fuck cares?**

Look, lets face facts....it comes down to one thing. Either we start beating them at their own game, or they're gonna close the playing field.

Would you rather do what you can to force the prices down by using other means of transportation, or would you rather they FORCE YOU to use other means of transportation because YOU CAN'T FUCKING AFFORD THE PRICE OF GAS???? It's getting to that point already, ISN'T IT?

I bought a bike, for $50 at a thrift shop, think about it folks, put a bit of glide in your stride by changing how you ride. wow, that almost rhymes.

Choice is yours folks. Make the right one soon.
